Farewell from Room 12
Today we farewell 2 very special people.
Amy has been a student in our class this term. We have loved having you visit Amy and wish you lots of good times when you return to China.
Miss Spencer has been in Room 12 on and off for most of this year and has been teaching us full time in Term 3. We have learned so much whilst she has been with us and will all miss her when she leaves today. Next year Miss Spencer will have her own class and the children in her class will be very lucky having such a lovely teacher.

NZ Maths Week
This week New Zealand is celebrating maths week!
Teachers, children and parents may access the webpage www.mathsweek.org.nz which can be used at school and home. Make use of this webpage
during maths week, earn dollars, complete problem solving activities,
challenge yourself!
Sunnybrae Normal School will also be celebrating maths week with fun daily challenges and lunchtime activities involving construction, problems and maths puzzles and games.
There is also a Maths evening on Tuesday where parents and children can come along and see how we learn maths at our school

How many maths riddles can you solve??
1. If it takes 10 people 10 days to dig a hole, how long will it take 5 people to dig half a hole?
2. A farmer had 17 sheep. All but nine died. How many does he have left?
3. Take 2 apples from 3 apples and what do you have?
4. Some months have 30 days and some have 31. How many have 28?
5. If you went to bed at 8pm and set the alarm for 9 in the morning, how many hours of sleep would you get?
